Our Story: A local Farm Shop in North Somerset
How Noah's Ark Farm Shop Began
Built on the site of Moat House Farm, which at the time was part of the Tyntesfield Estate, Noah's Ark Farm was founded in 1962 by Anthony and Christina Bush. Living and working as dairy farmers on the land, the couple decided to open the farm to the public, in 1998, as a small petting zoo. Since then it is grown into the Noah's Ark Zoo Farm we know today, an award winning conservation zoo.
It was during the Covid-19 pandemic, as the country went into lockdown, that the idea for a farm shop was born. With the country shutting down, and businesses closing, the team at Noah's Ark Zoo Farm decided that they wanted to create a space where they could reach out and grow within the local community.
In 2020 Noah's Ark Farm Shop opened its doors, providing the community with locally sourced produce and a farm-to-fork approach. Since then, we have grown into much more than a shop, hosting seasonal events, expanding our menu and creating welcoming spaces for people to connect.
BRINGING THE COMMUNITY TOGETHER
Community has been at the heart of Noah's Ark Farm Shop from the very beginning. What started during the Covid-19 pandemic as a way to reach out and bring people together has grown into a welcoming space for everyone. Today we continue to nurture that sense of belonging by creating a space for the local and wider community to connect, whether shopping for local produce, attending our events of sharing a drink with friends and family in our cafe.
We believe in supporting local business, which is why we are proud to stock a diverse range of small-batch products from independent businesses across Somerset and Bristol.
SUPPORTING LOCAL PRODUCERS IN BRISTOL & SOMERSET
We are passionate about supporting local makers and producers, stocking a carefully chosen range of products from across Bristol and Somerset. We even stock products straight from the farm, including our own honey which is harvested from our hives.
OUR COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY
Sustainability is at the core of our operations. Through carefully selecting the products that we stock, we show dedication to reducing food miles, cutting down on single-use plastics, and championing local suppliers.
